Everyone
loves the Dachshund, from their short little legs through to their elegantly held tails. What they lack in size, they certainly
make up for in their character. Dachshunds are clowns and love to be the centre of attention. With their pleading eyes
they can usually get what they want, but don't be fooled, Dachshunds are very independent. These little
dogs like to bark - their barks are surprisingly loud for their size and they are compulsive diggers (keep an eye on your flower beds), they also
have a tendency to be more stubborn than other breeds, so training may be more demanding.
Dachshunds
were originally bred to hunt and follow the Badgers into their dens, the instinct to track a scent is still very apparent
and many Dachshunds have to be closely supervised whilst out walking when off the lead, thats not to say that you can
not let your Dachshund run free, just watch out for any squirrels or other small furries, your Daxie will probably spot it
before you and be off on the chase.
Dachshund's
are little dogs with big hearts and above all will enjoy nothing more than cuddling up with their owner for a snuggle on the
sofa!
